Associate Professor of Political Science at Skidmore College

I teach in the Department of Political Science at Skidmore College. I’ve been a visiting fellow at the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University and serve on the Academic Council of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation. My teaching ranges widely in the history of political philosophy and in the American political tradition. Most of my writing and research has been focused in three areas: (1) totalitarianism and dissent; (2) liberalism; and (3); American constitutionalism and executive power. Here you can find information and links relating to my teaching, writing, lectures, books, and podcasts. You can reach me at ftaylor@skidmore.edu.
