F. Flagg Taylor

I am Executive Director and Professor, Center for Civics, Culture, & Society, at Miami University. I’ve been a visiting fellow at the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University and serve as Chair of the Academic Council of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation. My teaching ranges widely in the history of political philosophy and in the American political tradition. Most of my writing and research has been focused in three areas: (1) totalitarianism and dissent; (2) liberalism; and (3); American constitutionalism and executive power.
